The incident happened on Wednesday, Oct. 18 around 5:40 p.m., when an unauthorized person on the tracks at Port Chester station was fatally struck by a westbound New Haven Line train, MTA officials said.
The person's name has not yet been released. An investigation is ongoing.
The incident caused delays of up to an hour on the New Haven Line on Wednesday evening, in addition to some cancellations. Normal service eventually resumed around 9:30 p.m.
